Application Controller Platform
version

What is AC 2024.0

Growing the robot from a standalone component to a functional module or application cell (see picture below) needs an additional layer of business logic, interfaces and control. ABB CSSR GSC EU R&D has created an implementation of this specific software called the application controller platform (ACP). This layer defines the robot “skill” and periphery and for that productizes the module or cell based design into an off the shelve and easily implementable product. The application controller gives integrators and customers the ability to easily, quickly and intuitively configure a module or cell within its specific application.

What AC can do

The software layers not only enables ease of integration and use but also ease of development of new modules and cells in all cell or module based robotic implementations. This website will describes how to write custom orchestration modules in the AC to reduce time to market of new developments and to create corporate identity using the same interfaces and software platform throughout CSSR.

What AC not can

The AC can not replace the robot controller software. The pure atomic robot actions are still written in the ABB Robot studio. It is on top of this that new software is written an executed by the AC.
